Based in Hull, Albert Baxter Cold Storage Ltd was formed in 2006 to satisfy the needs of local companies for temperature controlled warehousing and distribution. The company had access to existing computer facilities as a temporary measure until a new warehouse management system had been chosen and installed.
After looking at various alternatives the company decided to purchase OpenRoad WMS from Soltec. The main factors for this decision were functionality, flexibility, value-for-money and the ability to get a new system operational in a very short time-scale. Albert Baxter Cold storage was also aware of the high quality of on-going support provided by Soltec to its sister company.
After enhancing the software, to cater for the particular needs of the company, the system was run in parallel for a few weeks to guarantee a smooth transition. OpenRoad WMS became operational within the strict time and cost constraints required by Albert Baxter Cold Storage Limited.

As a bonus OpenRoad was less than half the price of alternative offerings. Currently we use the standard features of the package but are considering the web-based option to provide an even better level of service to our customers.”
